Volunteer Activities
Yampatika is looking for help from our volunteers in more ways than ever before. Utilizing the interests and skills of our volunteers is extremely important to us. There are many opportunities for you to get involved to help support environmental and cultural education in Northwest Colorado.
Program hosts/helpers Every one of Yampatika's programs can use the help of a trained volunteer, whether it is assisting on a nature hike, greeting participants, or helping out with kids programs. All volunteers interested in hosting or helping will be asked to attend a short orientation to help them understand and support Yampatika's mission and programs..
Behind the scenes. Answer phones and questions, sign participants up for programs, prepare programs, maintain discovery boxes, and manage memberships.
Use your creativity to make fliers, posters, ads and more to help promote Yampatika and our programs. We welcome new and fresh ideas. Handing out flyers at the ski area, distributing our activity schedule to businesses around town, etc. Help get the word out!
Special Events and Fundraising: This is an ongoing task at Yampatika. Help plan the logistics of the Wild Edible Feast and other fundraisers and events. Also be creative in developing some new fundraisers and events that tie into our mission.
Kiosks. Switch out information in kiosks along the Core Trail to reflect the next season's activities and information.
If you are interested in helping with any of this, or know anyone who is, please email Charlotte Jensen, our Volunteer Coordinator, at ontheelk1@mindspring.com . You can also call or email Yampatika at (970) 871-9151 and yampatika@springsips.com.
